On Law Enforcement Appreciation Day, we proudly recognize our School Resource Officers for their service and dedication. Thank you to Officer Brett Stevenson and Officer Brian Gaskins for protecting our students, supporting our staff, and being positive role models in our school. We appreciate you today and every day!

We are thrilled to announce that Kish Pool and Olivia Stroud have been selected to present at the 2026 National Agriculture in the Classroom Conference in Providence, Rhode Island, June 22–25! 🎉
Their full workshop, “Dig It! Unearthing Learning Through Soil Stories,” will showcase hands-on, cross-curricular activities that connect soil to science, math, language arts, social studies, and more—all while meeting Arkansas Ag in the Classroom standards and National Agricultural Literacy Outcomes.
From building soil profiles to testing plant health and writing “Soil Stories,” their interactive session will provide educators with practical strategies to bring agriculture, sustainability, and inquiry-based learning into classrooms from Kindergarten through high school.
We are proud to have Kish and Olivia representing both Izard County STEM School and the state of Arkansas on a national stage!

Our 6th graders just wrapped up their thermal energy unit with an Insulator Design Challenge! 🧪🌡️ Using only the allowed materials they built insulated cups to see which materials best kept the water cold the longest. It was awesome to watch them test and compare their designs to find what helped slow heat transfer the most! 💡📊 #STEM #EngineeringDesign

Congratulations to Billie Ice and Riley Rucker on their recent Microsoft PowerPoint Certifications! They completed preperation for this exam in IC STEM's Introduction to Business class.

Good luck to our Cougars' Bowling teams today!

Izard County School will start conducting BMI (body mass index) screenings over the next couple of weeks. This is a mandatory screening in Arkansas for students in kindergarten, 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10th grades. However, if you do not want your child to participate in this screening, they will need to bring a note signed by the parent with them to the screening.
Additionally, the scoliosis screening program will be conducted soon to screen 6th grade girls, 8th grade boys, and 8th grade girls. For more information on any of the upcoming screenings, please contact Nurse Tanna at 870-322-7229.
