We’re proud to celebrate an outstanding honor for one of our own!
Congratulations to Charles Treat on being named the 2026 2A Junior High Coach of the Year by Arkansas Friends of Quiz Bowl / AGQBA.
This recognition is especially meaningful because it was based on nominations and votes from fellow quiz bowl coaches across the state — a reflection of the respect Coach Treat has earned from his peers.
Under his leadership, the junior high quiz bowl team posted an impressive 20-2 overall record this season, showcasing the hard work, preparation, and excellence of our students.

Today we celebrate individuals who keep our students safe on their journey to and from school—our bus drivers! 🚌
Rain or shine, early mornings and long afternoons, they show up with dedication, care, and a friendly smile. They are often the first and last school connection our students have each day, and their impact goes far beyond transportation.
Thank you to Isaac Blankenship, Tim Crouch, Michael Haling, Mike Haney, Carr Hill, Maison Hudgeons, David Jones, Kyle McCandlis, Zane McCollum, Marty McKnight, Juan Perez, Dennis Thielemier, Greg Workman, Tom Young, and van drivers!
We appreciate you! 💛

As we continue recognizing the Class of 2026, we’re proud to spotlight Shawn Douglas Bryson!
Shawn has been involved in Football, FFA, and Trap, making the most of his time at ICHS through athletics and extracurricular activities.
When asked about his favorite memory from high school, Shawn shared that some of his best memories were going on livestock trips with Mr. B and the Chapman brothers.
After graduation, Shawn plans to begin a career in HVAC with Richards Heating and Cooling.
When asked to share advice with younger Cougars preparing for middle or high school, Shawn said:
“Work hard for what you want—nobody’s going to give it to you.”
Congratulations, Shawn! We are proud of you and wish you all the best in the future!

It’s National Public School Volunteer Week, and we want to take a moment to recognize the many individuals who give their time to support our students, staff, and school community.

Thank you for the time, care, and energy you invest in our school—we appreciate you!

We've got a bit of a slower week, but there's still plenty of opportunities to support our Cougar student-athletes. Have a great week, Cougar Nation!

We’re excited to announce a new addition to Izard County STEM Elementary! Please join us in welcoming Katie Callahan, who will be joining our fourth grade team in the 2026-27 school year. A 2024 graduate of Arkansas State University, she recently completed her Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and brings experience from teaching first grade. She is passionate about creating a fun, hands-on learning environment where students feel confident, supported, and encouraged to grow.
"I am so excited to bring my energy and dedication to my students," shared Katie. "Our classroom is a place where we will celebrate progress, support each other, and grow together. It’s going to be a great year!”
Outside of the classroom, Katie enjoys staying active by traveling, shopping, and spending time with family and friends. We are thrilled to have her join our school family!
